Use the mobile app
What it does
Myra AI Workspace runs in the browser of a phone or tablet. You can add it to the home screen and open it as a standalone app, without the browser address bar. The installed app opens directly on the Chat view.
There are two ways in: the home-screen install from your browser, described below, and the native Myra AI apps for iOS and Android. Both run the same web app. So chat, model choice, attachments and the privacy pill work the way they do in a browser, with a few differences for small screens:
- A slim top bar replaces the desktop side rail's icon row. It has the menu button, the notifications bell and Send feedback. Inside a conversation it also holds the chat controls behind the ⋯ button.
- On a phone, before the first message, the Memories and ghost toggles sit in their own row just below the top bar. A tablet keeps them in the top bar.
- The model picker, the user menu and similar menus open as a sheet from the bottom edge of the screen.
- Privacy is one lock tile before the microphone in the message box. Tap it to open the Privacy sheet with the privacy pill, its explanation and, where available, Preview masking.
- Photos are shrunk before they are sent, so a large camera picture does not need to be resized by you.
How to ask
You do not ask for anything special in the app. You write to the assistant as you do on a desktop. This page covers setting the app up and the points where the phone behaves differently.
To add the app to an iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Myra AI Workspace address in Safari.
- Tap the Share button in the browser toolbar.
- Select Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add.
The Myra AI Workspace icon then appears on the home screen, and opening it starts the app on the Chat view in a standalone window.
The native Android app comes from Google Play: Myra AI on Google Play. Older download links for the app (/android.apk and /android.aab on the Myra AI Workspace address) now lead to the same Google Play page. The app is not offered as a file download.
Alternatively, on Android, open the same address in Chrome and choose Install app (or Add to Home screen) from the browser menu. The installed app shows the name MYRA AI under its icon.
Sign-in works as in the browser: you enter your email address and the one-time code you receive.
To attach a photo or a file, tap the + button in the composer and pick the file. Large photos are shrunk on the device first. If a photo cannot be shrunk far enough, it is not sent. The limit is about 7.4 MB when the model looks at the picture itself.
Tips
- If the model list looks short on a phone held sideways, that is expected. Below about 400 px of height the task labels under each model are hidden, and the search field stays.
- Use the search field in the model picker to find a model by name.
- In a chat, to read a PDF you attached, use Download original. In project files, use Download.
- Keep the app on a current version. When a newer version has been deployed, a notice offers Reload.
Limits
- In the native Myra AI apps, the PDF preview offers neither Open in new tab nor the iPhone hint for reading the first page only. Download original (in a chat) and Download (in project files) still work.
- In the native Myra AI apps, a link tapped inside an embedded preview, for example the PDF preview, stays inside that preview. The app never hands it to the phone's browser or another app.
- In the iPhone and iPad app, Download opens the share sheet, where you save the file to Files or send it to another app. Files over 100 MB, and files with an unusual name, are not saved; the app then says "Could not save the file". Close the share sheet before saving the next file; a file saved while the sheet is still open is not kept.
- In the native Myra AI apps, a preview or other embedded frame gets none of the apps' native functions, such as share or clipboard.
- In the native Myra AI apps, Copy on a reply, a code block or a support reference uses the phone's clipboard directly, so it works in the Android app as well. Text over about 100,000 characters goes through the browser clipboard instead, which the app may refuse; then the message "could not be copied" appears, and Download is the way to get the text out.
- In a browser without a built-in PDF viewer, for example Chrome on Android, the PDF preview shows "This browser can't show PDFs here. Use 'Download original' to open it."
- In Android app builds before the fix for picking several files, the file picker accepts one image or file at a time, in the feedback form, in the chat and in project knowledge uploads. Pick one, then tap Add another (in the feedback form) or the attach button (in the chat), or the upload button again (in project knowledge), for the next one. Updated app builds let you select several at once.
When something goes wrong
- Tapping the + button does nothing. On some builds of the native Myra AI apps the file picker may not open. The composer then shows, right away when the phone refuses the picker, or otherwise when you tap the screen again and the picker has not appeared, "The file picker didn't open. Please check that this app has permission to access your photos or files, then try again." Check the permission for photos and files in the phone's settings and try again.
- A photo is not sent. The photo could not be shrunk under the limit. Choose a smaller photo or a different file.
- A PDF will not show in the preview. Use Download original to open it in another app.
- The screen looks out of date. Tap Reload in the new-version notice.
